Bookkeeping Services for Field Service Businesses
Monthly bookkeeping to keep the books current, and cleanup bookkeeping to fix them when they’re not. Both in QuickBooks Online, both built around how service companies operate.
Monthly Bookkeeping
Who it’s for: Service businesses that want the books handled every month without having to think about it. Pest control, lawn care, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, cleaning, and similar companies with an owner who would rather run the business than reconcile accounts.
The problem it solves: Books that slip behind, reports that can’t be trusted, and a scramble at tax time. When bookkeeping happens every month, none of that builds up.
What gets done each month:
- Transactions categorized in QuickBooks Online
- Bank and credit card accounts reconciled
- Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet delivered
- Books reviewed for errors and missing items
- Questions answered about what the numbers mean
What you get: Current, accurate books all year, and organized records your tax professional can work from at year-end.
Cleanup Bookkeeping
Who needs it: Businesses whose books are several months or more behind, were never reconciled, or were set up in a way that makes the reports unreliable.
Common symptoms:
- QuickBooks balance doesn’t match the bank
- Transactions piled up in “Uncategorized” or “Ask My Accountant”
- Duplicate entries from bank feeds
- Reports that don’t look like reality
- A CPA who can’t work with what’s there
What cleanup accomplishes: I go through the history, reconcile every account, correct what’s wrong, and bring the books current. You end up with a clean starting point.
After cleanup: Most businesses move directly into monthly bookkeeping so the books stay accurate going forward.
QuickBooks Online
QuickBooks Online is Haverlin’s primary bookkeeping platform. It connects directly to bank and credit card accounts, works well for service businesses, and gives your CPA access without passing files back and forth.
If you’re not on QuickBooks Online yet, I can talk through what getting set up would involve during your review.
CPA-Ready Books
Haverlin handles the bookkeeping. Your tax professional handles the tax return. Keeping those two jobs separate is intentional: your CPA gets reconciled, organized books to work from, and you don’t pay CPA rates for monthly bookkeeping.
Haverlin does not prepare tax returns.
Not Sure Which Service Fits?
That’s what the review is for. I look at where the books stand and tell you what’s needed.
